FOOD FOR THOUGHT…FOODS YOUR SKIN WILL LOVE

FOOD FOR THOUGHT…FOODS YOUR SKIN WILL LOVE

With 2011 here, people are making over their workout routines and even their bodies…but one of things you should be making over is your grocery list, because what you put into your body truly does show through your skin. Sometimes, shifting into a healthier eating routine may be tough, but if you add some of these simple ingredients to your meals, you may notice a little twinkle in your cheeks.

-Stay hydrated with water! I can’t say that enough. Your skin needs water. If you want to sport a healthy glow and help reduce the look of wrinkles, one of the easiest and inexpensive things you can do is drink water.

-Mix it up with Green Tea. With its anti-inflammatory characteristics, green tea contains polyphenols that works as an anti-oxidant and an anti-inflammatory agent. It’s been a favorite of the Chinese for hundreds of years for its magical powers and helps fight off those free radicals that make our skin age early. But stay away from adding sugar to it to

benefit the most from it!

-Add some Vitamin A to your dinner with Popeye’s favorite, spinach, or munch on some carrots. But go light on the ranch dressing…I know it tastes delicious, but moderation is key! And try to eat them raw if you can. Vitamin A plays an important role in the formation and maintenance of healthy skin, hair, and mucous membranes.

-Very Berry! On your cereal add some berries or add them to your morning shake with some greek yogurt, which have a great antioxidant capacity and help our skin will look youthful and healthy.

-Add some Vitamin E to your snack, which helps defend against sun damage, with almonds. Try the unsalted ones if you can.

-Get Fatty…acids that is! Add flaxeeds or salmon to your grocery list and you will be adding omega-3 fatty acids to your diet that help erase spots and smooth out fine lines. It also helps lower irritation and inflammation.

-How sweet it is…chow on a sweet potato while your hubby is eating the other. Sweet potatoes are packed with Vitamin C, which stimulates collagen. And if you’re not a fan of sweet potatoes, munch on papayas for Vitamin C too.

Adding little things to your grocery list and life routine can be easy and your skin will thank you in the end!
