Your selfies just got a little slimmer. Dr. Marguerite Germain is proud to be the first and only physician in South Carolina to offer the first FDA-Approved procedure, KYBELLA™ , an injectable, non-invasive procedure that melts away double chin fat. Dr. Marguerite Germain will be holding informational events on July 2, July 9 and July 23, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. at Germain Dermatology, 612 Seacoast Parkway in Mount Pleasant, to explain how the procedure works and what patients are candidates for KYBELLA™. The event is free, but space is limited. Guests must call (843) 881- 4440 to reserve their space.
KYBELLA™ , which is made from deoxycholic acid also known as ATX-101, is a naturally occurring chemical produced in the body that helps absorb fat. When injected into the fat below the chin (known as submental fat) it breaks down and destroys the fat cells. Each in-office treatment session is typically 15-20 minutes. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment is usually not expected.Marguerite Germain, M.D., of Germain Dermatology was specifically chosen by the creators of KYBELLA™ to be the first in the state to perform the treatment. She also has been chosen to train other physicians on the correct way to administer the injectable drug.
According to a 2014 survey by the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, over two-thirds of consumers are bothered by their submental fullness, nearly as many as those bothered by lines and wrinkles around the eyes.As an innovator in cosmetic dermatology in South Carolina, Dr. Germain encourages patients who are interested to attend an informational event first to determine if it’s right for them.
